Aviator Sunglasses

As a pilot it is always interesting to read articles about aviator sunglasses. Sometimes I think the mystique overtakes common sense. For example, check out this article:

Aviator Sunglasses - Why You Should Buy The Mirrored Style

In this article the author claims that mirrored sunglasses were developed for pilots; nothing could be further from the truth. The facts are that aviator sunglasses for military pilots, and civilian pilots and drivers of cars with heads up displays, should buy non-polarized aviator sunglasses like Randolph aviator sunglasses. They are not mirrored, not polarized and are very effective at blocking out the suns harmful ultraviolet rays.

I found this interesting video that tells why these are the best aviator sunglasses:

In addition, I found this interesting article at Ezinearticles as well:

How Important Are Aviator Sunglasses For Pilots?

Aviator sunglasses are also important for drivers of automobiles that have heads up displays in them. Polarized sunglasses can render the readouts from the heads up display unreadable, and therefore useless.
